On 10–11 October 2025, digital policy stakeholders from across South Eastern Europe will convene in Athens for the tenth edition of the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG). Hosted at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel, the forum will bring together participants from government institutions, civil society organisations, private companies, academic institutions, technical communities and international bodies.

With the theme ‘A Decade of Dialogue and Cooperation: What’s Next?‘, the anniversary edition is designed as both a stocktaking exercise and a forward-looking consultation. The programme spans two full days of discussions on regulatory, societal and technical aspects of internet governance. Early sessions will address topics such as the implementation of AI regulation across Europe, the role of digital technologies in public administration reform, and the intersection of business practices with human rights responsibilities online.

Attention will also turn to challenges linked to media integrity and public trust, including efforts to counter disinformation, strengthen parliamentary engagement in digital policy debates, and manage the relationship between news outlets and dominant online platforms. Regional coordination is a recurring theme, particularly in sessions exploring digital policy roadmaps for the Western Balkans and cooperation between national authorities.

Further discussions will focus on online safety, including the protection of journalists and vulnerable users, as well as the resilience of democratic processes against cyber threats. Technical experts will contribute insights on internet infrastructure issues, such as the deployment of routing security mechanisms like RPKI and the evolution of national domain name systems (ccTLDs).

The programme also includes a co-creation workshop involving younger participants from the region, followed by an open community reflection. The meeting will close with an informal reception, offering space for continued exchange.

By bringing together actors from across sectors and borders, SEEDIG 10 aims to consolidate ten years of regional cooperation while identifying shared priorities for the decade ahead.
