The 123th meeting of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) will take place from 19 to 25 July 2025 in Madrid, Spain.

The event will kick off with the Hackathon and Code Sprint on 19 July. A full‑day orientation on 20 July will introduce newcomers to IETF processes.

Attendees will have the opportunity to attend working groups and Birds of a Feather sessions, as well as side events during the week.

This event is open to anyone interested in internet architecture and protocols, including engineers, researchers, policy influencers, implementers, and newcomers. Hybrid attendance will be fully supported, allowing both on‑site and remote engagement.

The IETF is an internet standards body that develops open standards through open processes. As a large, open international community of network designers, operators, vendors, and researchers, the IETF is concerned with the evolution of the internet architecture and the smooth operation of the global internet. The technical work of the IETF is done in working groups, organised by topic into several areas. The IETF holds meetings three times a year.
