The Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH), a WHO-hosted network in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Centre for Global Digital Health Innovation, will host a virtual session dedicated to exploring how interoperability models can drive the digital transformation of health systems.

The event will bring together country representatives, technical experts, and digital health decision-makers from around the world to reflect on scalable approaches to health data exchange and foundational digital architecture.

The session will draw on insights from five countries—Rwanda, Ghana, India, Brazil, and Finland—each at different stages of digital health maturity. Presenters will explore how digital public infrastructure and health information exchanges have supported progress in primary health care delivery, and what models have proved effective for achieving interoperability across health systems. With a focus on what works in practice, the discussion will highlight the building blocks of successful digital health ecosystems, from initial design through to national deployment.
