ITU Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG) May 2025

The International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group (TSAG) will hold its first meeting of the 2025–2028 study period from 26 to 30 May 2025 at ITU headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

This meeting will convene member states, Sector Members, academia, and ITU officials to review organisational matters and strategic directions for ITU-T standardisation activities. Participants will discuss and approve the agenda, appoint leadership roles, and review contributions related to ongoing and proposed standardisation work. Topics will include the establishment and continuation of joint coordination activities (JCAs), proposals for new focus groups such as those on embodied intelligence and the metaverse, updates on digital transformation efforts, and alignment with sustainable development goals.

Sessions will also address strategic and operational planning, vocabulary standardisation, and collaboration with external partners and regional offices. The meeting features plenary and working party sessions, supported by both in-person and remote participation, with key updates and contributions made available online for registered ITU-T members.
