National ICT Policy 2018 outlines Bangladesh’s commitment to transforming its public sector through strategic use of information and communication technologies. This transformation is envisioned to improve transparency, accessibility, and service delivery within government institutions. The scope of this policy spans across all public agencies and departments, aiming to embed digital practices into their everyday operations.
This policy’s purpose is to foster a data-driven and citizen-centric public administration. It promotes the integration of digital infrastructure, services, and governance frameworks to ensure that citizens receive timely, efficient, and user-friendly services. Through system interoperability and standardised digital platforms, the government seeks to build a coherent ecosystem that supports automation, streamlined decision-making, and inclusive access to public services.
The policy also reflects the broader national vision of building a knowledge-based society and transitioning Bangladesh towards a developed, digitally empowered economy by 2041.
