Strategies and Action Plans

The Digital Strategy of the Wallonia government of Belgium, spanning from 2019 to 2024, is outlined in the ‘Digital Wallonia’ framework, aimed at advancing Wallonia’s digital transformation through five major pillars: Digital Sector, Digital Business, Digital Skills and Education, Digital Administration, and Digital Territory.

Key Pillars and Objectives:

  1. Digital Skills and Education:
    • Goal: Equip every Walloon citizen with strong technological skills and an entrepreneurial mindset to become active participants in digital transformation.
    • High-Priority Projects:
      • WallCode: Develops digital skills, focusing on coding, programming, algorithmic logic, and robotics for the youth and general population.
      • Citizens’ Digital Maturity: Enhances basic digital competences among citizens to facilitate their active involvement in digital transformation.
      • Digital Wallonia Champions: Promotes digital technology, spreads awareness of Digital Wallonia’s initiatives, and contributes ideas for future digital development.
      • Ecole Numérique: Provides primary and secondary schools with quality equipment and faster broadband, promoting the use of digital technology in education and equipping learners with specific digital skills.
