Tunis, Tunisia

[Update] The Geneva Internet Platform will be participating at the IGMENA Summit. GIP coordinator Dr Tereza Horejsova will be sharing perspectives on two global-to-local support projects that have contributed to capacity development in the MENA region.

Since 2012, the IGMENA programme has been on the forefront of developing and reinforcing knowledge as well as building capacity on Internet governance in the Middle East and North Africa. The IGMENA programme is organising the IGMENA Summit 2016, on 30 September – 2 October 2016, in Tunis, Tunisia, in order to reflect on achievements and formulate relevant steps and strategy for the future.

The programme for the IGMENA Summit 2016 is structured around four broad themes considered to be relevant to the MENA region: transparency and inclusiveness of the decision-making process, the legal framework of human rights in the digital sphere, quality of service (Internet infrastructure, access, bandwidth), and Internet and sustainable development.
