IANA ICG Face-to-Face Meeting #5

18 Jun 2015 - 19 Jun 2015

The fifth face-to-face meeting of the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) will take place on 18-19 June, in Buenos Aires, preceding ICANN 53 (21-25 June). All stakeholders are invited to follow ICG meetings live through a dedicated virtual meeting room through which audio of the call is streamed. In addition, calls and transcripts are translated into the 5 UN languages as well as Portuguese.

The IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG), a group comprised of 30 individuals representing 13 communities, including direct and indirect stakeholders, was created in July 2014 as a result of community discussions and input provided as part of ICANN’s Process to Develop the Proposal and Next Steps.

The group was established after the announcement by the U.S. Government Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) of its intention to transfer the stewardship of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions to the global multistakeholder community. ICANN then convened a multistakeholder process to develop a transition plan. The full role of the ICG is described in its charter.
