France to allow AI-powered surveillance during Olympics

The French National Assembly has approved the use of AI-powered video surveillance during the 2024 Paris Olympics despite concerns from civil rights groups. If formally adopted, France would become the first country in the European Union to legalise AI-powered surveillance.
