Information and communications technologies for development (A/RES/70/184)

The resolution builds on previous resolutions of ICT for development, and recognizes and notes previous efforts and progress made in this area. The document welcomes the offer ‘by Mexico to host the meeting of the Internet Governance Forum in 2016’, and further urges participation of all developing countries. Importantly, there is a connection made to the new ‘2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda of the Third International Conference on Financing for Development’, for which ICT is recognized as a critical enabler.
