Nepal introduces a GIS based land management system
Nepal’s Department of Land Management and Archive (DOLMA) has introduced a Land Record Information Management System (LRIMS) that captures land-related transactions. Developed by RMSI, a geospatial and engineering company, the system is already in use in all 126 offices covering 77 districts as well as 14 land revenue offices. LRIMS integrates citizenship ID, and land and property information with tax management. The system introduced a PIN (Parcel Identification Number) & LIN (Land-ownership Identification Number) for each land parcel in the country using GIS.
