ENISA issues new report on digital ID standards

The report contains new recommendations for standardisation organisations, government agencies and policymakers.

OpenAI has urged EU regulators to prevent Apple, Microsoft and Google from dominating the AI market, warning their ecosystems could restrict fair competition.

The European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) published a new report with the aim of helping digital ID creators find their way through the multitude of standards in the area of digital identity.

The Digital Identity Standards report, released in July, proposes new recommendations for standardisation organisations, government agencies and policymakers. Among the most important recommendations for policymakers, ENISA suggests that the European Digital Identity Wallet  (EUDI) finds a clear legal definition of the term ‘digital identity’ and that the new Digital Markets Act (DSA) is implemented, to provide direct access from the mobile application to the security anchor provided by EU CC-certified secure elements available on smartphones.
