Uganda partners with Mühlbauer for digital ID cards
The Ugandan government has contracted digital security enterprise Mühlbauer to provide a functioning ID card and digital identity to Ugandan citizens
As at 2014, only 8% of Ugandans had birth certificates. Uganda enacted the Registration of Persons Act in 2015. Mass registration drives have seen close to 25 million Ugandans registered for permanent biometric ID. Through the partnership with Mühlbauer, the company will provide mobile registration systems.
