ASEAN AI Guide in making
The 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) will develop AI Guide in 2024. It will regulate responsible development and use of AI.
The 10-member Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has agreed to develop an ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics (ASEAN ‘AI Guide’). ASEAN initiative follows the similar developments worldwide on AI regulation. ASEAN is the region of 668 million people with a fast growing economy and dynamic digital developments.
The Guide will focus on responsible and ethical use of AI. In particular, it will address the use of AI for generating misinformation online.
The ASEAN AI Guide is expected to be adopted in 2024. The main dynamism will be made during the Singapore chairmanship of ASEAN digital coordination in 2024.
