Inter-faith dialogue on artificial intelligence, security and ethics

Organised by the UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), this inter-faith dialogue will take place on 12 June 2026 at Villa Bocage, Palais des Nations, Geneva.
Held ahead of UNIDIR’s Global Conference on AI, Security and Ethics 2026, the event will explore how faith-based ethical perspectives can contribute to ongoing international discussions on AI governance and the responsible use of AI in security contexts. Discussions will focus on themes such as human dignity, accountability, trust, responsibility, and the role of shared values in shaping approaches to emerging technologies.
The programme features an inter-faith panel representing Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, and Sikh perspectives, providing a platform for dialogue on ethical questions surrounding the integration of AI into military and security systems. The event aims to broaden engagement in debates on AI governance by incorporating diverse viewpoints alongside technical and policy discussions.
The event is open to representatives of governments, international organisations, religious communities, civil society, experts, and members of the public.
