3rd Global Conference of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network

The Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network will hold its 3rd Global Conference on 3-5 June, 2019, in Berlin, Germany. It will be organised in partnership with the Federal Government of Germany. 

The meeting will gather senior-level representatives from states, Internet companies, technical operators, civil society, academia and international organisations to advance the development of operational solutions and policy standards for cross-border legal challenges on the Internet.  

The 1st Global Conference was organised on 14-16 November, 2016, in Paris, France, in partnership with the Government of France and produced Areas of Cooperation. Based on these, stakeholders elaborated Policy Options Documents, which served as input in the 2nd Global Conference, held on 26-28 February, 2018, in Ottawa, Canada, in partnership with the Government of Canada. There, over 200 senior-level stakeholder from more than 40 countries agreed on the Ottawa Roadmap with concrete Work Plans to foster policy coherence and joint action in the three programmes of the organisation:

These Work Plans with common objectives and structuring questions serve as a mandate for three multistakeholder Contact Groups. For each of the three programmes, they are are now tasked to develop, with the full support of the Secretariat, concrete proposals for policy standards and operational solutions. The result of their work will be released for public consultations in April 2019, and discussed at  the 3rd Global Conference of the Internet & Jurisdiction Policy Network in June 2019.
