Vodafone shares unused 4G spectrum to boost rural connectivity in the UK

Vodafone is the first UK telecom provider to share access to its unused 4G spectrum with other providers following the telecoms’ regulator Ofcom’s decision to allow shared spectrum amongst operators. The aim is increasing connectivity in rural communities within Britain. Excess spectrum in the 2.6GHz band will be shared with a local broadband provider, StrattoOpencell who will provide fixed wireless broadband to customers with speeds up to 120Mbps.
