US tech giants propose COVID-19 vaccine certificates

A coalition of US technology companies have launched a COVID-19 certificate that can be carried on mobile phones and used for multiple purposes such as travel and entry to venues. The group, known as the Vaccine Credential Initiative, comprises of healthcare and technology companies such as Microsoft (MSFT), Salesforce (CRM), Oracle (ORCL), Cerner (CERN), Cigna’s (CI) Evernorth, Epic, and the Mayo Clinic. The announcement comes as the USA begins the nationwide roll out of the vaccine.
