US Congress considering amendment to credit union law
The US Congress Financial Services Committee is considering amendments to credit union laws that would allow federal credit unions to add underserved areas to their field of membership and exempt loans in low-income areas from the member business lending cap. In public hearings, the Committee has heard testimony from federal financial regulators, minority lending institutions, the credit union national association as well as tax experts.
