UNESCO launches coalition to accelerate remote learning solutions

In response to massive school closures in 102 countries around the world, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has established the Global Education Coalition for coronavirus response to provide advice and technical assistance to governments working in securing education for students out of school. The coalition brings together multilateral partners and the private sector, including Microsoft and GSMA, and helps countries deploy remote learning systems to minimise educational disruptions and maintain social contact with learners. Additionally, UNESCO is holding regular virtual meetings with education ministers across the world for sharing information on the effectiveness of approaches used in different contexts.
