UNCTAD provides fund to Myanmar to develop its e-commerce strategy

Within its Enhanced Integrated Framework (EIF), the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) supports a national project in Myanmar to develop an e-commerce strategy that upholds Myanmar’s Sustainable Development Plan 2018-2030. The strategy aims at transforming the vision and strategic goals of the plan into a concrete roadmap through proposing specific interventions for e-commerce development. Under the framework of the Digital Economy Roadmap prepared by the Digital Economy Development Committee (DEDC), the development of the e-commerce strategy will be led by the Ministry of Commerce alongside stakeholder consultations and focused group discussions to address relevant issues; namely information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, trade facilitation and logistics, skills, and payments and access to finance.
