UN Reports on System-wide Tools for SDG Data

The UN Secretary-General António Guterres has released a report describing progress on a federated system of national and global data hubs for the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and identifying a set of “common internationalised resource identifiers” for the SDGs and their targets and indicators. The progress reports will be considered by the UN Statistical Commission at its 51st session in March 2020. In line with this, the UN Statistics Division (UNSD) and technology partners have been working to scale up the federated system of SDG data hubs to include new countries and build capacity at the national level. The federated system is also being used to support the UN Development Coordination Office in displaying country data and visualising country progress towards the SDGs.
