Uber launches Uber Cash in Sub-Saharan Africa

Uber inaugurated its Uber Cash service in Sub-Saharan Africa with the technology firm Flutterwave. The service is available for ride-hail operations in South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Tanzania. Uber Cash is a payment service offered within the app through which users can pay for all Uber products, including bike-sharing and food delivery. To use the service, customers transfer money from their debit, credit or gift cards into their Uber Cash account. Uber Cash is expected to increase Uber’s operations in Africa by reducing obstacles in the payment process.
