Twitter deleted 125.000 terrorist accounts and expands its anti-terror activities

In 2015, Twitter deleted more than 125.000 accounts linked to terrorists on the basis of ‘human judgment and technology’. The company has installed specialist teams in the US and Ireland that are tasked with countering extremist content. Twitter’s actions are consistent with a larger development characterised by Silicon Valley companies increasingly cooperating with governments in the fight against online terrorism and extremist content.
