Survey shows that more than 68% of Europeans believe policy has a positive impact on digital development

A survey entitled ‘Views on the EU digital agenda’ conducted by the Vodafone Institute in member states of the EU shows that more than 68% of Europeans believe that legislation and policy has a positive impact on their country’s digital development. The survey results also showed that European citizens are relatively aware about EU digital policies given that 84% and 75% of surveyees were informed about the GDPR and consumer protection policies. The study also showed that safety on the Internet is the biggest concern for most Europeans with the majority according importance to personal data protection (63%), cybersecurity (56%) and hate speech and fake news (51%).
