SpaceX approved to send over 7 000 satellites into orbit

Elon Musk’s SpaceX has received the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) approval to send 7 000 very low Earth orbit (VLEO) satellites into space with the aim of providing global Internet connectivity. SpaceX is authorised to construct, deploy, and operate maximum 7 000 satellites into VLEO, and the 37.5-42.0 GHz and 47.2-50.2 GHz frequency bands can be added to its previously authorised non-geostationary satellite orbit (NGSO) constellation. SpaceX will be able to support broadband services for residential, commercial, institutional, and governmental users across the globe.
