Singapore to introduce climate censors to mitigate urban heat

Singapore is planning to introduce a network of climate sensors in order to address the so-called ‘urban heat island effect’. This initiative is one of the three mitigation measures and is expected to gather data on urban heat island effect. The sensors will collect data on ambient temperature, relative humidity and wind speeds. The data will then be employed in simulation computational models on climate which will ultimately be assimilated into a ‘digital twin’ as part of ‘Cooling Singapore 2.0’ project.
