Pacific Alliance and Mercosur define a plan to reinforce cooperation

The presidents of the member countries of the Pacific Alliance – Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru – held their XIII summit in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The final communiqué expressed the leaders’ satisfaction with joint meeting between the Pacific Alliance and Mercosur, which defined a plan of action to reinforce cooperation among the two trade blocs. They also welcomed South Korea as a new candidate for associate member status. In addition, leaders agreed to develop the Alliance’s work further in topics such as gender, while reaffirming their existing commitments to multilateral environmental and climate accords.
