NSF announces US$3.5 million award for IoT engineering for precision agriculture

The US National Science Foundation (NSF) awards $3.5 million for the Engineering Research Center for the Internet of Things for Precision Agriculture (IoT4Ag). The centre involves four universities: University of Pennsylvania (the leading university), Purdue University, University of California – Merced, and the University of Florida. The centre will aim to develop advanced agricultural technologies that will improve farming practices and productivity and minimise waste and ecological consequences.
