NIST publishes final public draft on securing small business and home IoTs using MUD
The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and its National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) published the final public draft of the NIST Cybersecurity Practice Guide Special Publication 1800-15, Securing Small-Business and Home Internet of Things (IoT) Devices: Mitigating Network-Based Attacks Using Manufacturer Usage Description (MUD) for public comments. The guide demonstrates how to use MUD to reduce IoT devices’ vulnerability and the potential for harm from exploited IoT devices. The deadline for commenting is 16 October 2020.
