Microsoft to open data centers in France

Microsoft has announced plans to open data centers in France, in 2017, to enhance the provision of cloud services across Europe. According to Microsoft, the continuous investments in regional cloud services is intended to respond to European businesses’ needs to comply with data sovereignty and security regulations. Microsoft has doubled its cloud capacity in Europe over the past year, investing more than USD 3 billion up to date. The company has also released a book called ‘A Cloud for Global Good’, which includes a set of 78 public policy recommendations aimed to make cloud technologies more trusted, responsible, and inclusive. The recommendations cover areas such as next-generation skills, enhancing security and privacy, environmental sustainability, etc.
