ICANN and Verisign to run a ‘parallel testing’ of the root zone management system

ICANN and Verisign have announced the start of a ‘parallel testing’ of the root zone management system. The test will run for 90 days and it is intended to verify the integrity of the data contained in the root zone file following the transition of the IANA functions stewardship. The parallel testing period will be used to confirm that the current root zone management system and the parallel test version (that has had the NTIA authorization step removed) produces identical output for every root zone file published.
