ICANN and NASSCOM collaborate for identifier R&D

The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) formed a technological collaboration with the Indian National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM)  for research and development (R&D) focused on Internet identifier technology. This collaboration already started last year, when both organisations began working on testing the use of the domain name system (DNS) to update Internet of things (IoT) firmware. The project team will include ICANN technical experts, NASSCOM’s Centre of Excellence for IoT team, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad, and participants from India’s Education and Research Network (ERNET).
