IBM initiates Open P-Tech for Africa programme in Kenya

IBM, in cooperation with the African Advanced Level Telecommunications Institute, has launched the Open P-Tech for Africa programme with the aim to build the digital skills of Kenya’s youth. As part of the initiative, some 50,000 persons between the ages of 14 and 20 will be given direct access to digital training on emerging technologies. Training materials will be provided in English, French, and Spanish. The learning platform Open P-Tech will be free of charge for young people and educators and will contain educational content on artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, and the future of work. Users of the platform will earn a learning certificate after successful completion of training.
