Greek DPA fines telecom group 400.000 euros for GDPR breach

Following complaints from telephone subscribers of the Hellenic Telecommunications Organization (OTE), the Greek data protection authority fined the telecom group 400.000 euros for violations of the EU’s GDPR. The Greek DPA imposed this fine for breach of the principle of accuracy and data protection by design when keeping personal data of subscribers, as well as failure to satisfy the right to object and the principle of data protection by design when keeping personal data of subscribers.
