Google accused of breaching French antitrust authority orders

French antitrust investigators have claimed that Google failed to comply with the competition body’s order on how to deal with negotiations with news publishers, according to Reuters. The investigators have released a ‘statement of objections’ report in which they announced that Google did not comply with requirements from the antitrust authorities to start negotiations with publishers within a three-month period and to provide the French authorities with the data they would need to negotiate an agreement. Google can face fines of up to 10% of sales when it violates antitrust orders in France.
