FCC establishes task force for broadband data and mapping tools
The US Federal Communication Commission (FCC) has created a task force aimed at improving its broadband data and mapping tools. The task force will, among other things, provide detailed data and develop more precise maps on broadband availability. The initiative comes following criticism that FCC’s broadband data – including its accompanying maps – is not granular enough which in turn has caused obstacles to rural broadband funding efforts.
