Facebook to foster the ‘reduce, remove, inform’ approach against fake news

To better tackle the spread of misinformation, Facebook has announced the improvement of its ‘reduce, remove, inform’ strategy. The particularity of this new approach lays in the establishment of a ‘Quality Group’ feature which will hold group administrators more accountable for their conduct towards illicit content shared within the group. Moreover, Facebook will also incorporate a ‘“click-gap” signal into News Feed ranking to ensure people see less low-quality content in their News Feed’. Finally, Facebook will expand on its collaboration with outside experts (such as the Associated Press) to make the fight to misinformation more effective.
