Ethos launches selection process for .org Stewardship Council

Ethos (the entity seeking to acquire the .org registry) has launched a selection process for the .org Stewardship Council. The role of the council will be to ‘ensure and support the Public Interest Registry’s (PIR’s) commitments to the .org community’, and ‘to provide the PIR Board with independent strategic advice and recommendations to help guide PIR in considering and balancing the best interests of all .org stakeholders, including customers, employees, vendors, the Internet community, the public, and PIR investors’. So far, Ethos has retained Heidrick & Struggles executive search firm to assist in the process, and has published selection criteria for council members. The selection process will be carried out by a selection committee, to be formed ‘over the coming weeks’. Nominations will be accepted between 31 March and 1 June 2020.
