Enterprises still reluctant to adopt cloud computing because of security concerns

According to an IDG survey on enterprise cloud computing, organisations are increasingly integrating cloud computing into their operations: 70% of the surveyed organisations have at least one application in the cloud, while 16% plan to do some within 12 months. The survey, however, also shows that the main barriers to cloud implementation are related to security concerns (although IDG notes that the concern has decreased since 2014). On the other hand, the main reasons for companies’ investments in cloud computing are related to: lowering total cost of ownership, replacing on-premise legacy technology, and enabling business continuity.
