Towards a digital ethics (Ethics Advisory Group report 2018)

EDPS Ethics Advisory Group has issued the “Towards a digital ethics” report in 2018, which engages with the question of convergence of etnics and the law. The EDPS Opinion identifies several technological trends that require a review of the relation between technology and human values, thus calling for the formulation of a ‘new digital ethics’: big data, the Internet of Things and networked sensors, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. The report seeks to propose terms and concepts that contribute to a constructive debate about the future of ethics in a full-fledged digital society.
