Increasing co-operation against cyberterrorism and other large-scale attacks on the internet (Resolution 2070)

In this resolution, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) stresses that further work at European and international levels is necessary in order to address adequately the challenges posed by cyberterrorism and other forms of large-scale attacks. The Assembly emphasises the need to further develop international legal principles regarding mutual assistance in criminal matters while respecting fundamental rights. Recommendations for Member States regarding the protection of services and infrastructure which are critical for the national security are also present in the resolution. Also outlined are some of the obligations of providers of critical services or infrastructure, producers of hardware and software, cloud computing services, and providers of public websites regarding preventing potential large-scale cyber-attacks.
