Science, technology and innovation for development (E/RES/2015/27)

The resolution builds on previous resolutions on science, technology, and innovation for development. The document recognizes the instrumental role of science, technology, and innovation for the achievement of the previous Millennium Development Goals, and therefore highlights the possibilities of science, technology, and innovation for the post-2015 development agenda (SDGs). Crucially, the resolution brings in the new priority themes and approaches brought forward by the new Sustainable Development Goals. The resolution presents recommendations for UN member states and governments, and the Commission on Science and Technology for Development and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
