Measures to promote the public service value of the internet (CM/REC(2007)16)

The Committee of Ministers (Council of Europe) has outlined measures to promote the public service value of the Internet. Concerned by the risk posed by cybercrime threats, racist and xenophobic content on the Internet, online sexual exploitation and abuse of children, the governments of member states will, in co-operation with all relevant stakeholders, take all necessary measures and specific provisions to secure the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms of everyone within their jurisdiction.
