The Guidelines address the issues which should be taken into consideration in the formulation of cryptography policies at the national and international level. They promote the use of cost-effective, interoperable, portable and mobile cryptography; foster confidence in digital infrastructures and servicesÍž help ensure data security; and protect privacy without jeopardising public safety, law enforcement, and national security.
