e-ASEAN Framework Agreement

The e-ASEAN Framework Agreement amongst other things commits to promoting cooperation on the development, strengthening and enhancement of the competitiveness of the ICT sector in ASEAN. It also calls for a liberalisation of trade in ICT products, ICT services and investments to support the e-ASEAN initiative. It also encourages the member states to adopt electronic commerce regulatory and legislative frameworks that create trust and confidence for consumers and facilitate the transformation of businesses towards the development of e-ASEAN.
