Digital health (A71/A/CONF./1)

Resolutions and Declarations

The digital health resolution recognizes the potential of digital technologies to ‘support health systems in all countries in health promotion and disease prevention, and by improving the accessibility, quality and affordability of health services’. This connects SDGs and increased digitalisation. The resolution calls for digital health solutions to complement and enhance existing health service models, and urges WHO member states to take action in areas such as to assess their use of digital technologies for health in order to improve, promote and develop opportunities and benefits of digital health, and develop effective partnerships with stakeholders across all sectors in the use of digital health. The WHO is called on to develop a global strategy on digital health, to provide technical assistance to member states, and to monitor developments and trends.
