Declaration of Cooperation on Digital Transformation and Smart Growth in the EU Cities and Communities

The declaration was signed on the ‘commitment to cooperation on digital transformation and smart growth’, for European cities. This was reasoned as European cities produce much of European nations’ GDP, and ‘promote sustainable growth, more and better jobs, inclusiveness, social equality and resilience’. Therefore, advancing technologies such as AI, sensor technologies, cloud computing and open data, may be part of a digital transformation to manage cities growth and respond to big societal challenges. For this purpose, several commitments were made:

– Foster dynamic innovation ecosystems.

– Experiment and utilise cutting edge technologies and unlock the potential of big data.

– Upskill the city.

– Scale up infrastructures and investments for the 21st century.

– Drive change through networking.
