Leaders’ Statement on Cybersecurity Cooperation

The statement expresses the leaders’ commitment to broadening and deepening their cooperation to promote an open, interoperable, reliable and secure ICT environment that fosters efficiency, innovation, communication and economic prosperity. The leaders are committed to increasing efforts in implementing practical confidence-building measures and expanding cooperation on the strengthening of cybersecurity that includes promoting regional capacity building programmes such as the ASEAN Cyber Capacity. Resolving the digital divide and ICT development gaps within ASEAN and policy cooperation along with the relevant regulatory framework are also amongst the main objectives.
