Declaration to Prevent and Combat Cybercrime

The declaration outlines measures which will strengthen regional co-operation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in preventing and combating cybercrime. These include, among others, harmonization of laws related to cybercrime and electronic evidence; exploring the possibility of acceding to existing regional and international instruments in combating cybercrime; developing national plans of actions addressing cybercrime; strengthening co-operation and co-ordination among member states in tackling cybercrimes; enhancing co-operation between ASEAN Member States and its partners and other regional and international organisations to enhance cyberspace security; and strengthening capacities of member states in addressing cybercrime through provision of assistance to each other.
